Happy February 1st!

For my first “real” post, I thought it would be fitting to treat it as an opportunity to get to know me on a more personal level, which will make it easier to interpret my future pieces.

First, a cliché list of my favorite things:

Concerts
(the best concert I have been to was The Weeknd’s AFTD tour in LA in 2022)
Fall
(the perfect weather, perfect outfits, + Halloween is my favorite holiday)
Films
(I definitely will have a whole post on films but for now, some of my favorites are Taxi Driver, La La Land, A Bronx Tale, Good Will Hunting, and Notting Hill + any M. Scorsese film)
Flower Bouquets
(Trader Joes has the perfect selection of flowers for bouquets)
French Toast
(in my opinion, the best french toast is from Sadelle’s in NYC)
Gold Jewelry
(earring stacks, rings, bracelets, necklaces, everything)
Lattes
(my perfect order is any latte with almond milk and a shot of hazelnut)
Music (more on this later)
New York City
(my favorite places in the city are SOHO and Greenwich Village)
Pasta
(penne vodka is my favorite dish and Da Nico’s in Little Italy, NYC makes the best one)
Reading
(some of my favorite books are Normal People, Bell Jar, & 101 Essays That Will Change the Way You Think)
Sex and the City
(I love the earlier seasons the most)
Traveling
(some of my favorite places I have visited are London, Paris, and Jamaica)
Vogue Magazines
(I got a monthly subscription last year and I am obsessed with collecting them)
90’s Fashion
(minimalist fashion is my absolute favorite and I love Kate Moss and Julia Roberts)

To add on, creating mood boards, any Robert De Niro film, or Matilda Djerf-inspired outfit will pique my interest too.

Lastly, something I pride myself on in particular is my music taste. Music is one of my favorite aspects of life and my taste includes dozens of different artists, from Drake to Frank Sinatra. Some other artists I admire are:

In one way or another, I plan to incorporate all of these topics and compose them into a written form that attracts like-minded people.

Why I created “Lily’s Literature”:

I have always had a huge interest/fixation on pop culture and everything within it: music, fashion, celebrities, TV/films, etc. Creating this page is a way for me to have a specific place where I can share my thoughts on these topics at my disposal.

In the past few months, I have had the opportunity to write more than I ever have before, both personally for my school’s newspaper and professionally for a local newspaper. During this time, I have honed in on what I really love to write about, which is why this blog is what it is!

I have a lot of ideas and subject matters I want to write about and I cannot wait to share them all soon!

While I am planning on sharing a majority of my own opinions and thoughts, I also want to share the opinions of others, therefore, several different collaborative pieces are in the works with friends!

Above all, I want to create a space where people my age can view content that is relevant, easy to understand, and intriguing to read about.

What to expect:

I currently have several articles underway, including music and film recommendations, opinions on current fashion trends, the transition to the spring season, and a Valentine’s Day-themed piece!
